Letter to Santa...

I just finished my Christmas wish list this afternoon! I am very excited to spend the holidays with my foster family, but I’d love to find a Furever home soon too!

Epilepsy ... but I'm tackling it!

Since my last update, we have discovered that I have Epilepsy. Apparently, it’s more common than you think in dogs. The best guess at this point is that I was just born with it; a genetic condition. So I’m not overly concerned about it. It is what it is, and I still have so much more life to live!!

I am currently on a drug called Phenobarbital. It has prevented me from having seizures too often. Once I get the correct dosage figured out, I may not have them too often at all! The medicine is making me a bit dozy and clumsy and hungry, but that’s because we’re still figuring out the right amount I should take. In time, those minor side effects should go away. And really, I don’t mind having an extra nap a day!

My foster mom says while my medical condition is a bit unfortunate it really shouldn’t slow me down much or change my path in life! I just need the right home that has patience, love and understanding (and maybe a few extra dollars to help pay for my medicine and blood tests, which really aren’t too expensive). I promise to repay you with company on walks and hugs, kisses and snuggles every single day!

If you want to know more about Epilepsy in dogs just Google it. There is lots of information that I found on the web!

Dec 3, 2011 Adoptathon!

I spent the day at an adoptathon, meeting all kinds of people and dogs. I had a good time, and was, of course, an excellent boy. I don't get too excited about things, I'm pretty relaxed ... even in that overwhelming environment.

(I wish these humans knew how to use photoshop - my eyes don't actually glow!)
